AFRL Club Session to be held 3pm Saturday June 20 at Booralee Park, Botany.

The AFRL will hold it’s first of two mid-season club sessions on Saturday June 20 at Booralee Park, Botany at 3pm. All players of Australian Fijian descent are invited to the session that will involve all players eligible for the AFRL’s U/16’s team, U/19’s team and open age senior team.
 
The session to be run by AFRL coaches Daryl Neville, Joel Greig and Shane Millard with the assistance of AFRL Chairman James Pickering and Vice Chairman Manoa Thompson as well as AFRL trainers Dave Mcillhenny and Darren Jones.
 
There will also be for the kids under 13 that attend the session activities provided for them also. All of this will be followed by a BBQ and refreshments cooked and provided by AFRL board members.
 
AFRL Chairman James Pickering would love to see as many players there as possible should it not conflict with matches for their respective clubs.
 
“We decided to hold these sessions so we can touch base with all our players and see how they are all going mid-season and bring them up to speed with our playing schedule at seasons end. A lot of the boys don’t get to see each other much during the year so it will be good to catch up get the ball in our hands and have some fun and a bite to eat after. It’ll be also be good for our boys to hear the voices of our coaches and get to know them a bit as well as any other people they don’t know.”
 
Head Coach Daryl Neville is looking forward to seeing all the boys from the u/16’s right through to the Senior team.
 
“These sessions are good ice-breakers for everybody that is foreign to the system just as me. I had a short period with the boys over the nine-a-side campaign and am looking forward to catching up with them again as well as meeting all the new guys also. These little get-togethers help with the gelling process for when we get together for our end of season matches and tour.” said Neville
 
The AFRL Club Session and Club BBQ will be held Sat June 20, 3pm at Booralee Park
(corner Jasmine and Myrtle street Botany opposite Botany Aquatic Centre).
