AFRL NEW MAJOR SPONSOR: Mascot RSL Club join AFRL family of Sponsors as “Exclusive Venue Partner”
The Australian Fijian Rugby League today announced that Mascot RSL Club has joined the AFRL’s Family of Sponsors in becoming the organisations “exclusive venue partner” for the next 12 months. The $8,000 deal will see the Mascot RSL Club logo displayed on the back of the Australian Fijians playing jersey and will now see the AFRL call Mascot RSL home.
The Petero Civinoceva Medal Night, Tropical Passion and the NRL Grand Final Eve Party will all be staged at Mascot RSL in 2009. This along with all of the after game functions and monthly board meetings will now all be held at the popular Mascot Club.
At the announcement of the deal in the Mascot RSL board room Mascot Club President Wally Miller addressed the AFRL Board and talked of his excitement about the partnership with the AFRL.
“The Polynesian and Pacific Island community have always been a big part of Mascot and the surrounding area. We are very glad to now be affiliated with this particular organisation (the AFRL) and we look forward to having you guys as well as other members of the Fijian community come to Mascot RSL even more now in the future.” said Miller.
AFRL Sponsorship Officer Steve Driscoll also addressed the meeting thanking Wally and Gaynor (Club CEO) for throwing there support behind the Australian Fijians and also spoke of the opportunities there for both organizations in this partnership.
“We don’t just see this as a sponsorship for the AFRL but as a partnership between us and Mascot RSL. We now have a place we can call home and on the back of the three successful events we look forward to giving something back to this club through these functions. We also see this as a chance for our organisation to help grow Mascot RSL’s membership through our database and network and also help give exposure to any of the clubs facilities and upcoming attractions. I honestly believe this will be a win/win for all involved here”
The AFRL will work with Mascot RSL in promoting the upcoming Rugby League World Cup in particular the Australian Kangaroos and Fiji Bati games in which they will have numerous players from their organisation involved. The AFRL’s signature event “The Petero Civinoceva Medal Night” has also been booked for Sunday January 25 in 2009.
“This will be the best way for us to start our year off as well as our relationship with Mascot RSL. Last years PC Medal night was a sellout and on the back of the World Cup and the year Petero and all the other Fijian boys playing in the NRL have had there will be plenty to look back on.” Driscoll said.
The money from this deal will be used to help fund the AFRL U/16’s Development Cup Team and the AFRL Senior team tour to Great Britain in Nov/Dec.
